Professor Christopher W. Smelser is part of a team that was recently awarded a NSERC Strategic Project Grant totalling nearly $500000 to study specialized silica glass fiber. This project is designed to build on Dr. Smelser’s recent breakthroughs in artificial silica based non-linear optical components.
