Carleton Teams Present Collaborative Projects with Na-Cho Nyäk Dun First Nation

On Thursday, February 26th, Dr. Ali Arya, Dr. Omair Shafiq, and their students from Carleton School of Information Technology, along with colleagues and students from Sprott School of Business and the School of Linguistics and Language Studies, showcased their projects done in collaboration with the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun (NND) as part of a project, titled, Kwän Dék’án’ Do (“to keep the fire burning,” in the Northern Tutchone language). This project is supported through a partnership with the Office of the Commissioner of Indigenous Languages (OCIL) and aims at language and cultural revitalization using advanced technologies such as AI and VR.
