Dr. Audrey Girouard

Associate Professor, Associate Dean, FED – Research

Audrey Girouard is a Professor in the School of Information Technology and the Associate Dean Research for the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Carleton University. She leads the Creative Interactions Lab, a multidisciplinary research team in human computer interaction that considers how people use tangible devices and wearable technologies, understands their applications, with a focus on accessibility. Her lab co-designs with people with disabilities to create and evaluate new devices that offer new input capabilities. She is an investigator on the Research and Education in Accessibility, Design, and Innovation (READi) training program. She received the CS-Can|Info-Can Outstanding Early-Career Computer Science Researcher Award and the Carleton Outstanding Faculty Graduate Mentor Award.

Dr. Girouard received her PhD in Computer Science from Tufts University in 2010, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Human Medial Lab at Queen’s University the following year. Her undergraduate degree is in software engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal.
