ITEC 5910 B, Special Topic in Networking Technology – Software for Mobile Networks
Software techniques and tools for implementing mobile networks, focusing on the radio access network. Topics include open-source software and tools, software defined radios, physical layer signal processing, protocol features, Open RAN architectures, application interfaces and 6G evolution. The course will include hands-on implementation opportunities with distributed and centralized (cloud) software.
ITEC 5910 W, Special Topic in Networking Technology – 5G Networks
Principles enabling 5G communications; physical, link and network layer protocols used for 5G communications and networking. Topics include evolution from 1G to 5G, standardization, spectrum planning, 4G LTE Fundamentals, 5G New Radio enhancements, 5G Core and beyond 5G.
