The latest Guardian interactive on voting rights in the US is a fantastic example of how data can interface with maps, while not only using maps. The main interface to explore the data is a series of equal-sized boxes organised spatially as the States are on a map. This isn’t new, but comparing the interactive map to the graduated circle maps lower on the page, you can clearly see how much easier it is to interpret the underlying data. I would be interested in seeing the data from the graphs available on this map as well.
