This concentration is recommended to individuals who plan to pursue a career in the financial sector, such as, banking, insurance, or consulting, where strong background in economics, in addition to finance and accounting, is required.
This concentration provides students with a broad foundation in Computer Science which in combination with Economics training equips students with highly marketable skills. The ability to effectively interact with artificial intelligence as well as conduct advanced computer-aided analysis are essential skills for succeeding in the digital era marketplace.
This concentration offers a unique perspective for Data Science, based on its development and application of Econometric tools and analysis to problems framed through the lens of Economic theory. It provides students with unique training in the rapid-emerging and high-demand field of Data Science.
This concentration provides a rigorous and intensive grounding in economics as well as a relatively high-level training in mathematical and statistical methods.
This concentration is recommended for students with very strong interest and background in mathematics, intending to pursue some of the top graduate programs in economics or related quantitative discipline.
This concentration is recommended to individuals who have a strong interest in development and plan to pursue a career in the foreign service or in an international governmental or non-governmental organization.

A superb and innovative Ph.D. program where graduate students can benefit from the partnership with the University of Ottawa through the Ottawa-Carleton Graduate School of Economics (OCGSE), which offers access to more than 50 economists who teach and supervise graduate students across both universities.
