The B.Econ Honours Concentration in Economic Data Science provides students with unique training in the rapid-emerging and high-demand field of Data Science.

While the B.Econ Honours Concentration in Economic Data Science includes foundation courses in computer coding and information technology, the overall emphasis is on providing students with training in general econometrics and the application of the latest statistical and econometric methods (e.g., machine learning) to economic questions involving both traditional and non-traditional datasets using Economic theory as a guide.

Students looking to gain additional training in either computational methods or analysis may choose to combine the B.Econ Honours Concentration in Economic Data Science with the either B.Econ Honours Concentration in Computational Analysis or B.Econ Honours Concentration in Economic Theory. Either of these combinations will provide students with a strong and broad set of skills generally sought by the employers.
