Dr. Sahadeo is a Professor with the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, cross-listed with Carleton’s political science department, with a focus on the contemporary history of the Caucasus and Central Asian Republics. Recently, Dr. Sahadeo has turned his scholarly projects towards Georgia and the human experience of Rivers as touchstones for memory. His other academic research has focused on diaspora and migration; contemporary Central Asia and the Caucasus; nationalism and minorities; and comparative colonialisms.
