Europe and Canada’s Strategic Response to the Russia–China Axis: De-risking, Defence, and Democratic Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific

Monday, November 24, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

Description

The roundtable explores how Europe and Canada are responding to China’s growing assertiveness within the broader context of the emerging Russia–China strategic alignment. The discussion will examine evolving European and Canadian approaches to de-risking from China, strengthening defence cooperation, and engaging with like-minded Indo-Pacific partners such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan. By situating these developments within the framework of transatlantic and Indo-Pacific security interdependence, the event seeks to assess how Western allies can coordinate more effectively to address the dual challenges posed by Moscow and Beijing.
