The Emerging Scholars Workshop

We are pleased to announce The Emerging Scholars Workshop, a one-day academic workshop taking place at the University of Latvia in Riga on July 2, 2026. The event will be held in seminar rooms 801 and 802, University of Latvia, House of Science.

The workshop will bring together emerging scholars, researchers, and invited speakers for a full day of presentations, keynote talks, and discussion on European security, Russia’s war, hybrid threats, strategic stability, political memory, state authority, and radicalization. 

The program will include keynote remarks by Rolands Heniņš, Undersecretary of State and Policy Director at the Latvian Ministry of Defence, and Patrick Burchat, Task Force Latvia Policy Advisor. The workshop will also feature three thematic panels with presenters from Carleton University, the University of Latvia, the University of HelsinkiPeace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), and the University of Roma Tre
