Role
Heather holds a MA in History from the University of New Brunswick as well as a BA in History from the University of Lethbridge and a Certificate in Research Administration from Mohawk College.
She previously worked as a Research Awards and Honours Facilitator at Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of Guelph where she developed award nominations for researchers across all university faculties. She also has extensive experience in post-award grant management; as the Research Administrator for a Partnership Grant at York University, she coordinated financial management and budgeting, research ethics, research event planning, academic publishing, and human resources management.
Prior to returning to academia, Heather worked primarily in the non-profit sector, building and directing a research program for the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, a national non-profit centred on new citizens and inclusion.
