Kristin Bourassa

Role
Kristin holds a PhD in History from the University of York (United Kingdom) as well as BA and MA degrees from the University of Ottawa, with studies in History and Medieval and Renaissance Studies. She currently holds an appointment as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of History.
She has previously worked as a Project Officer with the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences where her responsibilities included managing funding programs and programming research-based events. Earlier in her career, Kristin was Academic Manager and Postdoctoral Fellow with the Centre for Medieval Literature, a joint Centre of Excellence between the University of Southern Denmark and the University of York. In this capacity and among other responsibilities, she coordinated the Centre’s communication activities, wrote grant applications, and facilitated a group of twenty affiliated researchers.
Leveraging her experience both at and outside of Carleton, Kristin will serve as the lead administrative professional in our Research team. With Kristin’s appointment to this role, we will now be moving forward to fill her vacated Research Facilitator position to round out the research team that will work in tandem with Associate Dean (Research and International) Carol Payne to support FASS researchers.
