Ethan Claessen ( He/Him )

B.A. Honours Childhood and Youth Studies, Minors in Environmental and Climate Humanities and Anthropology

Ethan is a third-year student in the Childhood and Youth Studies program, with minors in Environmental and Climate Humanities and Anthropology. His interests include education, child development, inclusive teaching practices, children’s rights, environmental studies, and anthropology.

With experience working with children from infancy to kindergarten through childcare for the Town of Carleton Place, as well as over 450 hours of experience as a teaching assistant with Grade 2 and Grade 7 students for the HCDSB, Ethan is passionate about creating supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. He hopes to pursue a Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior division (Kindergarten to Grade 6) following his undergraduate degree.

Ethan is excited to be a FASS Ambassador because he loves connecting with people, helping others succeed, and giving back to the Carleton community. He looks forward to welcoming incoming students, answering questions about campus life, student housing, and the Childhood and Youth Studies program, and helping students feel confident as they navigate university. Whether sharing advice about academics, discussing future pathways to teachers’ college, or simply being a familiar and friendly face on campus, Ethan hopes to make every student feel welcome, supported, and excited about their university journey.
