Jennifer Evans
Professor, Department of History
Dr. Jennifer Evans is a Professor in the
Department of History at Carleton University,
where she teaches contemporary German
and European history, as well as transnational
histories of love, hate, sexuality, and everyday
life.
As a researcher, she is interested in the history
of the body, gender, and sexuality, visual
culture, public memory, and the everyday.
Her most recent book, Queer Life After Fascism:
Kinship and the Queer Art of History, questions
respectability politics in queer and trans
organizing, art, and remembrance in the late
20th and 21st century Germany and argues
for kinship as a category of historical analysis.
