Paul Williams

Professor, Department of Geography and Environmental Studies

Dr. Paul Williams is an Undergraduate Advisor
and Associate Professor in the Department of
Geography and Environmental Studies at
Carleton University with over thirty years of
university teaching experience.

His teaching and research focus on cultural and
historical geography, with students examining
Ottawa landmarks such as LeBreton Flats and
the Chaudière Falls. He teaches a wide range
of courses, including Location Is Everything,
Cultural Geography, and Climate Change: A
Social Science Perspective. During the pandemic,
he also created an innovative course on Pandemic
Geographies.

An enthusiastic storyteller, he loves historical
maps, globes, and geographical games —
and enjoys sharing his passion with students.
