A typical day at work looks like…

I am currently researching how the native microflora in soft cheeses (i.e., Brie) interacts with the common foodborne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes.

My future goals are…

My hope is to develop a cheese starter culture with antilisterial properties.

The education received during my time at Carleton University developed the required foundation for entering into cutting-edge research in food safety engineering.

My advice for current students is…

You get out what you put in. Hard work during your undergraduate years will pay off 10-fold in the future relative to those students who just float through. Make the investment now.
