Join us next Friday, November 4, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM for the DGES Founders Seminar Series in Loeb A220.

Dr. Melissa Kelly presents:  “Understanding the Contemporary Challenge of Onward Migration”

This research explores the trajectories of people who moved from Iran to Sweden as refugees following the Iranian Revolution in 1979, stayed in Sweden for a minimum of five years, and then subsequently moved on to London, England. The study provides an alternative view on the relationship between migration, transnationalism and integration.

Melissa Kelly is the Borders in Globalization Postdoctoral Fellow at Carleton University. She has published articles and book chapters on migration, citizenship and identity in the European, African and North American contexts.

All are welcome. Light refreshments will be available.
