Join us in welcoming Meera Karunananthan who joins our department on July 1st, 2021 as a Lecturer in Human Geography.

Meera’s research on urban hydro-social conflicts is the culmination of more than a decade of solidarity and collaborative inquiry with water justice networks around the world. In her previous role as Director of the Blue Planet Project, she helped build connections between water justice struggles through research, popular education and collective organizing. Her research investigating the gendered and racialized impacts of urban drought management and climate adaptation policies in Cape Town, South Africa is guided by feminist, decolonial theory and practices.
