The FASS Global South Graduate Scholarship (GSGS) was set up last year as part of Professor Mike Brklacich’s formal retirement after a 28-year career with DGES. The establishment of the FASS GSGS is in celebration of Mike’s many (& continued) contributions to DGES, to Carleton & to the international development community.
Thanks to the generosity of several donors from the DGES community, we raised just over 75% of the funds necessary to endow the FASS GSGS. Once we reach this goal of $50,000 – and we are nearly there – the inaugural $2,000 Award will be awarded to a graduate student from the global south.
