Seeking Indigenous graduate student to lead a scoping review on health equity and Indigenous research

Position description: We are seeking an Indigenous graduate student with experience in Indigenous research to join a multi-disciplinary, global team focused on improving reporting of health equity in observational studies by extending the STROBE statement (Strengthening Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology), https://osf.io/h57se/.

The position is for 6 months, part-time (20 hours per week, though time commitment is negotiable) under the supervision of Dr. Vivian Welch, Dr. Sarah Funnell, Dr. Janet Jull and Dr. Lawrence Mbuagbaw (co-principal investigators of CIHR-funded grant). Start date is negotiable: August 2024 is preferred. There is a possibility of extension. The focus of the work will be carrying out a scoping review of guidance for assessing health equity in Indigenous research as lead author in collaboration with our global Indigenous steering committee and other research team members.

Here’s what you need: Master of Science in epidemiology, public health or related field (or equivalent experience will be considered). Experience in research with Indigenous people. Experience with evidence synthesis is an asset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills.

Employment location: Team meetings are by Zoom thus location is flexible.

Employment type: Part-time 20 hours/week for 6 months (negotiable)

Salary is based on Bruyère Research Institute human resources policies. Range is $24.30 to $27.71 per hour, commensurate with experience.
