Title: Oncolytic Virus Immunotherapy for Cancer
Immunotherapy has shown the greatest clinical promise to service the cancer patients that are not benefiting from the current standards of care (surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy). As a result, the field has exploded in recent years in an effort to develop technologies that can fully capitalize on the potential of the immune system. One such avenue of study is the use of viruses as programmable nanomedicines to shape and direct both innate and acquired immunity towards the patient’s tumour. I will discuss our current work to bring these concepts to the clinic.
