Join us on November 9 for a full-day Workshop on Modern Heritage, featuring presentations by Jeff Cody (Getty Conservation Institute, Los Angeles), Victoria Angel (ERA Architects), Andrew Waldron (BGIS), Carly Farmer (MTBA) and Tamara Anson-Cartwright (City of Toronto), as well as James Ashby’s work on Modern Megastructures.

The workshop will explore new initiatives and perspectives in assessing, recording and treating modern heritage sites through a series of morning presentations. Participants will have the opportunity to apply workshop concepts by visiting nearby modern heritage sites in downtown Ottawa and engaging in small-group, expert-led discussions. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will identify future research areas and suggest follow-up activities for capacity-building in the the conservation of modern heritage in the Canadian context.

The full-day event will be held on Saturday, November 9 from 9:00am to 4:30pm at Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre, 355 O’Connor Street, Ottawa. Parking is limited on-site, but available in the surrounding area. Lunch is included. There is no charge but we ask you to register in advance.
