How did you find out about the position? Did the role meet or exceed your expectations?

Cedric found out about the Adecco Canada CEO for One Month position through the Carleton job board in 2021. Although he applied that year and didn’t get it, that didn’t discourage him from trying again. Cedric spent 2022 working on his own personal business, then reapplied for the position in 2023 and he got it! The role absolutely exceeded his expectations, which he praises the people around him for. He expressed that “a lot of time you don’t know the goal of a company or what their guiding compass is, but not at Adecco. Adecco’s main focus is growth and everyone there would give you that answer”.

Did you feel more confidentĀ in your role as CEO for One Month because of your experience with the Innovation Hub?

As a result of his time at the Innovation Hub, Cedric said “I met some fantastic people at the Innovation Hub that helped me throughout my Adecco position”. He mentioned that Jess, the social media coordinator and graphic designer for the Hub helped him by editing the weekly recap videos he had to post on his Instagram account. He also extends his thanks to John, the director of the Innovation Hub, for being supportive in his smooth transition from working at the Hub to joining the team at Adecco.

What would you say to build confidence in a student at Carleton who wants to go after their dream job?

To build confidence in anybody looking to go after their dream job, Cedric would say “Your dream doesn’t have to be a job” and encourages people to think outside the box. Some of his words of wisdom are, “If you fail, try again” and “Life is short, if you have a dream go after it”.
