This SIG explored the issue of cross-campus collaboration, and more specifically, collaboration between faculty and professional services. They’ve noted successful collaborations recently on campus, such as the Strategic Integrated Plan committee (composed of faculty members and professional services staff) leading to a greater sense of our common mission at the university and achieving some of our goals together.
They wanted to learn more about faculty-staff collaboration and so decided to start with a conversation. They asked: Why should we collaborate? Which situations or contexts warrant faculty-staff collaboration? What are the obstacles to collaboration? They received some very interesting and thought provoking answers to those questions.
Their presentation will provide an overview of what they did, what was heard and what was learned about collaboration and hope to continue the discussion with all of us here today
