CALL Action Research

The objective of this project is to propose new pedagogical approaches to language teaching and learning languages with technology, experiment with them, and report on your experiences. It is not intended to be a comprehensive “research” project, but rather an action-oriented research site.
If you have an interesting and/or innovative lesson idea that incorporates technology and language learning, this is the place to explore it.
You may also see blog posts with the label “AAO” in the news feed below. These are “Alternative Assessment Options”. The idea of these options is that they either be used as replacements for existing assessment types (e.g. essay or powerpoint presentation)
In addition to this ad hoc experimentation, the project will also:
- review and share relevant research from journals, websites, influencers, and more
- track funding opportunities for language learning research both here at Carleton and elsewhere
- post information about upcoming language learning webinar and conference opportunities
