Meet the Team
Curious about who’s who in the LLRC? These three groups are responsible for different aspects of the Centre. Let’s get to know them!
Work Study Members
Composed of students with different interests and skillsets, this multifunctional team keeps the LLRC running smoothly. In addition to helping patrons find and sign books in/out, each member has a specific language-related project(s) they are working on.
Now Hiring
Do you love languages? Are you eligible for the Work Study program? If yes, consider joining the Language Learning Resource Centre team.

Conversation Group Organizers
Conversation groups are run by volunteers who are either native (or highly proficient) speakers of the language or enthusiastic learners and are intended ONLY for members of the Carleton community. Sessions are generally one hour per week with scheduling organized to meet the needs of both organizers and attendees. Members of both are encouraged to use the online Attendance Tracker to keep track of their participation. Five or more hours are required to qualify for CCR credit. Both organizers and attendees are eligible.
Looking for Volunteers
Are you a native (or highly proficient) speaker of one of the languages we teach? If so, please consider joining our community as a Conversation Group Organizer. Or maybe you’re a super-motivated learner? If so, also great. Rather than a conversation group, we can set you up as a Study Group Organizer!
Language Teaching Assistants
Many TAs for language classes meet students in the LLRC for their office hours. If you are a language TA, please send your schedule to the LLRC so we can add it to our weekly schedule.
