Aye Al HassanAye (she/her) completed her bachelor’s degree in Information Technology in Information Resource Management, with a minor in English Literature, from Carleton University in 2022. Motivated by passions of accessibility and inclusion, she focused on aspects of human society for the majority of her final projects. She researched to understand how data and information provided opportunity to marginalized groups. This permitted her to question, develop and revisit her knowledge on the relationships between information and communities. The desire to pursue a profession that creates a connection between the information sector and humanities led her to the MPNL program.

Through the program, she hopes to hone her nonprofit understanding and policy skills, create connections with leaders in the field and contribute to the expansion of philanthropy’s scope. As a philanthropist with a unique focus on information and policies, Aye aspires to be a leader in the community who’s able to remove privileged gateways to information and data access.

During her free time, Aye’s hobbies range from doing puzzles to discovering and visiting small cafes around the city. She’s also trying to get back into reading and would love recommendations.
