Putting Empathy into Action: Building a Broader, Stronger Culture of Philanthropy in Canada

In Canada, the voluntary giving of one’s income, wealth or time toward public purposes is a good thing, and a stronger “culture of philanthropy” would also be a good thing, but we see mixed signals related to both. The MPNL program’s “PANL Perspectives” is running a series that examines, from a variety of viewpoints, the question of how to broaden and strengthen the culture of philanthropy in Canada. What important things do we know or not know from existing data? How might we deepen the culture in future generations, among faith communities, multicultural communities, and others?
