Julia BigelowJulia is from Cobalt, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Guelph in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology and has always been passionate about animal health and welfare, spending many years volunteering at animal shelters across the country. She currently volunteers at the Northern Animals Rescue and Sanctuary (where she adopted her cat, Rosie) and is a member of their fundraising committee.

Julia was introduced to the field of philanthropy and nonprofits through working as a Vital Signs coordinator for The Temiskaming Foundation. By working for a nonprofit organization and attending Community Foundations of Canada summits, she learned more about nonprofit work and found her way to the MPNL program. She’s excited to discover more about the philanthropy and nonprofit field and to learn from others with experience in the field.

In her free time, Julia likes to get outside with her dog, Flynn, go kayaking, and do hand embroidery for her Etsy store.
