Lisa Trefzger Clarke, Postdoctoral Researcher in the MPNL Program

Women have long been the quiet power in philanthropy, and they’re becoming more important, visible and powerful as donors, leaders, founders, venture capitalists and societal changemakers.

As the MPNL program’s newest postdoctoral researcher, Lisa Trefzger Clarke will help launch and build our Women in Philanthropy initiative, helping to produce and share research on women in philanthropy and facilitating learning among women changemakers of different generations and communities. The new initiative will also increase understanding of diverse voices shaping philanthropy and leading to systemic change.

The initiative is generously supported by businesswoman, educator and philanthropist Roslyn Bern. As President of the Leacross Foundation, Roslyn has led many projects to advance women in STEM fields, international development and in leadership positions across the private and nonprofit sectors. Thank you to Roslyn and the Foundation for advancing opportunities for women in areas where they are underrepresented.
