Teresa Marques

Since 2018, Teresa has been the President & CEO of the Rideau Hall Foundation, a national charitable organization that shines a light on excellence, creates opportunities, and connects communities. She’s an accomplished fundraising executive with extensive experience leading development teams in the healthcare and post-secondary education sectors, and has significant experience in people management, partner engagement, grant making for social change, major-gift fundraising and organizational development.

Teresa is interested in how giving patterns in Canada are changing — seeks to drive social change while strengthening the non-profit sector and civil society. She holds degrees in Canadian history from the University of Ottawa and York University, as well as a post-graduate certificate from Dalhousie University’s School of Continuing Education, with a focus on non-profit governance.

Her volunteer service has focused on community development and education issues; she’s served on numerous local and national boards of directors. Her current and previous directorships include Philanthropic Foundations of Canada, National Theatre School, AFP Ottawa, Family Services Toronto, and Working Women Community Centre.
