Carleton to Host Annual Community Connections Networking Event

March 20, 2019

Carleton University will host the fifth annual Carleton U Community Connections – an event that promotes community-campus engagement in teaching and research. It will provide campus and community participants with opportunities to engage on a variety of project themes through workshops, discussions and networking.

When: Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Room 252, Discovery Centre, MacOdrum Library, Carleton
Info: This event is open to the Carleton community and community organizations. Registration is available online.

Media are invited to attend the event.

The event will help establish connections between Carleton students, faculty, professional staff and community-based organizations. By fostering these connections, Ottawa’s partnership network can be strengthened and grown. Campus-community partnerships will help advance research, support innovation and community development, and create valuable experiential-learning opportunities for students.

Workshops will be held on themes that include renewable energy and sustainability, health promotion, accessibility, policing and community safety, working with Elders in Indigenous communities, among many other topics. This event will feature a student video competition with a $500 prize.
