We are thrilled to announce that Michael Shkolnik, a valued member of the NPSIA community, was selected to represent Canada in the 2024 McCain Institute’s National Security & Counterterrorism Fellowship. This distinguished program is dedicated to fostering collaboration among Five Eyes partner nations and preparing the next generation of leaders in national security and counterterrorism.
As part of the year-long Fellowship, Michael and his cohort engaged with the heads of security agencies and senior officials during visits to Washington, D.C., Australia, New Zealand, and London. These immersive experiences provided unique opportunities to exchange ideas and address global security challenges.
In addition to his participation in the Fellowship, Michael continued to make significant contributions at NPSIA, teaching courses on terrorism and armed conflict analysis. He also served as a senior Middle East analyst with Global Affairs Canada, regularly briefing Cabinet Ministers and senior officials on critical issues.
