Dr. Yuke Li

Fellow

Yuke Li is a scholar whose work bridges political science, international relations, and systems theory in engineering. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Peking University in 2011, followed by a Ph.D. in Political Science from Yale University in 2018. Since then, she has pursued postdoctoral training at Yale’s Department of Electrical Engineering on a US Army Research Office grant and at the Westlake Institute for Advanced Study during the pandemic. Her research focuses on game theory, multi-agent systems, and AI, with their applications particularly in defence research.

Dr. Li has published her research in leading venues such as Automatica, Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation, and the World Economic Forum Agenda. Beyond her academic work, she collaborates with Yang Lan, often referred to as “China’s Oprah” and a prominent television host and ambassador for Beijing’s bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. Through this partnership, they have organized dialogues with distinguished scholars and public figures including Joseph Nye, Governor Jerry Brown, Yuval Harari, Sir Vince Cable, and Susan Rockefeller, fostering international understanding between China and the global community.

After the pandemic, Dr. Li visited the Oxford China Center and Yale Global Justice Program. She is currently a Fellow at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) at Carleton University, where she continues her work on international relations and emerging technologies.
