In an era marked by rising fragility, stalled poverty reduction, and declining development finance, the role of Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) has never been more critical. This talk explores how MDBs are being called upon to respond to intersecting global challenges and what innovations are needed to stay fit for purpose. We will unpack emerging expectations for MDBs, examine opportunities to mobilize concessional resources more effectively, and discuss the evolving landscape of development finance. The session will also highlight pathways for students interested in international development to engage with these issues and contribute to shaping the next generation of development solutions.
