Are you ready to share your ideas on a global stage? The Global Ideas Competition (GIC) of the 56th St. Gallen Symposium gives you the opportunity to do exactly that.
Each year, the St. Gallen Symposium brings together influential leaders from business, politics, academia and civil society with exceptional young talents, known as the Leaders of Tomorrow, for two days of dialogue and debate in Switzerland.
- St. Gallen Symposium: 28 to 29 April 2027
- Leaders of Tomorrow programme: 25 to 30 April 2027
- Where: University of St. Gallen, Switzerland
- Theme: Conditional Partnerships
The competition is open to graduate and postgraduate students born in 1997 or later.
To enter, submit a Solution Brief of up to 1,000 words and a Video Pitch of up to three minutes.
This year’s question: “What could we solve, if we could agree?”
Identify a solvable problem that remains unresolved because the parties cannot agree. Propose the arrangement that would unlock a solution, show the evidence behind it, explain who must be involved, on what basis they would come together and why this has not yet happened.
The strongest submissions receive an all-expenses-covered trip to Switzerland to join the Leaders of Tomorrow programme.
The top three winners will present their ideas on the global stage and share a prize of USD 25,000.
