Specialization in Climate Change
Climate change will impact international affairs in ways that will be significant but also difficult to predict.
Global temperature increases will alter weather patterns, contributing to intense storms, patterns of drought and extreme heat, wildfires, and rising sea levels. Food scarcity, malnutrition and poverty will increase. These effects of climate change will displace populations, undermine economies, and challenge social cohesion.
By linking with leading researchers across Carleton’s diverse faculties, the Collaborative Specialisation in Climate Change provides NPSIA students with the tools to understand how climate change will impact state power, patterns of global competition and cooperation, and impact the effectiveness of international institutions.
