James Pierotti

PhD Candidate (International Conflict Management and Resolution)

James’ area of study is international conflict management and resolution. His research focuses on the practical application of military strategy and the historical factors behind the cessation of hostilities, however, he has deep interest in many aspects of military history and theory.

James spent 34 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force and has experienced conflict and military strategy first hand in times and places as diverse as Somalia 1992, Rwanda 1994, Bosnia 1996, and Afghanistan 2008. Over the last five years James has worked as a defence contractor advising senior military officers on strategic engagement, operational planning, and projects. He continues to support domestic and international military planning efforts.
