Margaux Stastny

Margaux Stastny is a PhD candidate in International Economic Policy at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA). Her research examines the political economy of development finance, with a particular focus on how development finance institutions and innovative financial instruments can advance both sustainable development and strategic influence.

Margaux has over twenty years of international experience, including advancing trade and development policy in the Government of Canada and leading advocacy, partnerships, and resource mobilization in the global not-for-profit sector. Throughout her career, she contributed to the establishment of FinDev Canada, supported Canada’s leadership of the Redesigning Development Finance Initiative, and led strategic partnerships with governments, multilateral development banks, and the African Union.

Margaux holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs (International Economic Policy) from NPSIA and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from Concordia University. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of HealthPartners Canada.
