Jennifer Dale-Tam (Jenn), RN, MSN, CNCC(c), CCSNE, CHSE-A, is an Assistant Professor and Lead Simulation Faculty at Carleton University’s School of Nursing. She also serves as a Simulation Educator at the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre/The Ottawa Hospital. With advanced certification in simulation education, Jenn brings a strong blend of academic and clinical expertise to her work in health professions education.
Her practice centers on designing, delivering, and evaluating simulation-based learning with a focus on interprofessional collaboration, clinical reasoning, and psychological safety. She leads in-situ simulations that improve team performance and drive continuous quality improvement within real clinical settings. Her research interests explore the learner experience, innovative debriefing strategies, and the broader impact of simulation on individual learners, healthcare teams, and educational programing.
Recognized nationally for her work, Jenn is a published author and presenter advancing simulation pedagogy in education and practice. Her passion for teaching began as a young adult teaching swimming lessons and lifeguarding—experiences that shaped her lifelong commitment to education. Today, she continues to mentor, inspire, and shape the next generation of healthcare professionals through curiosity, compassion, and transformative learning grounded in best practices
