Basic Life Support (BLS) Courses

Registration is currently open for Carleton University nursing students. Registration for non-Carleton nursing students will open July 1st 2026.

Registration must be completed through the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s registration page prior to registering below. Please use the same course code when registering.

The Carleton University Simulation Collaborative (CUSC) offers Basic Life Support (BLS) training for students, healthcare professionals, and community members seeking certification or renewal.

Our courses are the Heart and Stroke BLS curricullum and provide participants with the knowledge and hands-on skills required to respond confidently in emergency situations. Training includes high-quality CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) use, and team-based emergency response techniques. Particpants who pass the course recieve a Heart and Stroke Foundation certification.

BLS Initial Certification

The BLS Initial Certification Course is designed for individuals who have not previously completed a CPR or BLS certification course.

BLS Renewal Course

The BLS Renewal Course is intended for individuals who have successfully completed a full BLS course within the previous 12 months and require recertification.
