Annual General Meeting (2026-2027)
Earlier this week, members of the Carleton University School of Nursing came together for our Annual General Meeting, led by our Director, Danielle Manley.
Over the two days, faculty and staff had the opportunity to reflect, connect, and look ahead. We began by sharing personal experiences, including moments of pride from the past decade and the workplace cultures we hope to continue building and strengthening within the School.
These conversations set the tone for thoughtful and meaningful discussions about the year ahead. Together, faculty and administrative staff explored the continued development of the nursing curriculum, with a strong focus on course planning, student success, and how we can best support students throughout their academic journey.
As the School of Nursing continues to grow, we recognize the importance of evolving alongside a rapidly changing health care system, higher education landscape, and student experience. Through discussions around curriculum mapping, we considered not only course structure and progression, but also the different pathways students may take during their time at Carleton, including the academic, personal, and unexpected challenges they may encounter along the way.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on how the School can continue to offer timely guidance, meaningful support, and a learning environment that helps students build confidence, resilience, and professional readiness.
To close the meeting, Danielle shared her long-term vision for the School of Nursing. While there is still much work ahead, these conversations reflected our shared commitment to growth, collaboration, and innovation.

Most importantly, they reaffirmed the School of Nursing’s student-centred approach to education and our commitment to preparing the next generation of nursing professionals for Ontario, Canada, and beyond.
