Taught by Professor Danielle Manley, the course introduces students to key topics shaping digital health, including health information technology, electronic health records, privacy, cybersecurity, interoperability, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and the future of digital nursing practice.

As part of the final presentations, all students created digital posters and had the opportunity to engage with faculty, visiting scholars, staff, and members from Carleton’s partner healthcare organizations throughout the National Capital Region. Through these conversations, students shared their ideas, reflected on current challenges in health care, and explored how innovation can support safer, more connected, and more patient-centred nursing practice.

The presentations also planted important seeds for the future of nursing. By connecting classroom learning with real-world questions in digital health, students considered how technology, data, and evidence-informed practice can help transform health systems and improve care for patients, communities, and health professionals.

The School of Nursing extends its thanks to everyone who attended, engaged with students, and contributed to meaningful conversations about the future of nursing and digital health.

Congratulations to all NURS 2016 students on their excellent work.
