This four-part, in-person Resume Workshop Series will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to stand out in today’s competitive job landscape. Attend every session, or just the ones that are relevant to you. This series allows students and alumni to get tips from a Career Consultant about resumes and includes time to work on your resume each session so you can apply the knowledge you’ve learned. Session 1 kicks off with lessons on creating the foundation for a strong resume. Other sessions throughout the fall term include Session 2: How to Write a Persuasive Cover Letter, Session 3: Insider Insights into Applicant Tracking Software and Session 4: Leveraging AI Tools for Job Applications.

Applying to Graduate and Professional Studies Workshop – Part 1: What Do I Need to Know? September 19, 2023, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Thinking about graduate school or professional studies? Getting ready to apply? Not sure where to start? Career Services is here to help! This session is open to both current students and alumni regardless of your career goals and where you are at in the exploration or application process. Part 1 of this in-person workshop will help attendees, in any year standing or program, think about things to consider before applying to any graduate school and professional programs. TD Employer Recruitment Information Session – Thursday, September 21, 2023, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

This in-person event with TD will cover career opportunities that include customer experience associates, personal banking associates and personal bankers, as well as the benefits and ways in which TD Bank invests in employees. Carleton alumni who are members of the branch banking team will also be speaking during the session and will provide an overview of their roles within branch banking. The first part of the session will include the presentation followed by a Q&A.

Redblacks Game & STEM Recruitment Night – Friday, September 22, 2023, event starts at 3:30 p.m., game starts at 7:00 p.m. (networking begins at 3:30 p.m. and will continue throughout the evening).

Meet and network with Ottawa STEM employers to learn about career opportunities, plus enjoy a Redblacks football game! At this unique event, taking place at TD Place Stadium, connect with employers and other students from the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College. This is a chance to discuss potential co-op/internship positions and new grad employment opportunities. Tickets are $21 for Carleton students and there are only 75 spots available. Companies that will be attending include Ciena, Solace, Innovapost, Warner Brothers Discovery and more.
