Make the most of the last weeks of the winter term with these Learning-Strategist approved tips!

Start Final Papers Early

Starting your final papers in March gives you plenty of time to research, outline, and draft. Break down your papers into smaller, manageable steps, such as conducting research, writing the introduction, and drafting body paragraphs. By spreading it out over time, you reduce stress and improve the quality of your work. Check out the awesome resources in the MacOdrum Library such as Research Support and Writing Consultations Sessions.

Schedule Accountability Meetings with Professors

Set up meetings with your professors or teaching assistants to review your progress on papers, assignments, or final projects. This is an excellent opportunity to clarify any questions you have and get feedback that will help improve your work. Accountability meetings can also ensure that you’re on track to meet deadlines and can address any accommodations you may need for finals.

Daylight Saving Time & Time Management

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday March 9th, and losing an hour of sleep can throw off your rhythm. Use this change as a reminder to check in with your time management strategies. Consider adjusting your schedule to make the most of the daylight hours. Prioritize high-energy tasks during the day and set evening reminders for important deadlines. It’s a good time to reflect on how you are managing time and if any adjustments are needed.
