Alex is a vice president at Summa Strategies specializing in government relations, policy development, change management, and grassroots campaigns. He leads the defence sector and procurement practice at Summa. He has over 15 years of experience working in various public, private and not-for profit sectors. He has advised clients in a variety of fields including defence, infrastructure, transport, environment, energy, and municipal affairs.

Prior to joining Summa, Alex was the Director of Public Affairs at the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA). He was responsible for leading and managing the transit industry’s public policy positions and government relations activities to effectively mobilize decision-makers and influence outcomes.

Alex also worked for Accenture, a global management and technology consulting company. For nearly 4 years, he was involved in large business transformation projects where he primarily led change management campaigns and organizational assessment strategies.

He also served as a legislative advisor to a Minister and a Member of Parliament in Ottawa, where he has worked on various policy files and on engaging youth to participate in the democratic process.

Alex was a Board Member of the Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC) and chaired the Strategic Planning Committee in 2019-20. He holds a Bachelor in Social Sciences (Hons.) in Political Science and Communications from Ottawa University and a Master’s of Political Management from Carleton University’s School of Public Affairs.
