Jeanne Joanne is currently Press Secretary and Issues Manager to Canada’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General, and to the Minister responsible for ACOA. She previously served as a Junior Communications and Parliamentary Affairs Officer for the Commissioner of Official Languages of Canada before joining Parliament Hill as a Communications and Parliamentary Affairs Advisor to MP Dominique O’Rourke. Before joining the public service, she was involved in national advocacy, serving as a witness on Senate bills, advising on Government of Canada white papers, and leading campaigns advancing French‑language equity in post‑secondary education and SGBV prevention. She also sits on the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s Advisory Council. In recognition of her growing influence, she was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Black Women to Watch in 2025.
