Degrees:MPM/17

Born and raised in a small town in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Kristin moved to Ottawa to take the Master’s of Political Management program and to get first hand-experience in federal politics. Kristin completed the practicum portion of the program at Summa Strategies Canada. She then began working as a consultant at Summa, specializing in government relations, public affairs and assisting clients as they navigate through the political process.

Along with her master’s degree, Kristin also graduated with a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University. She has worked in several communications roles in the corporate, not-for-profit and economic development sector, in addition to playing key roles in strategy development on several political campaigns.

“The professors in the MPM program are political experts and can offer insight from both a government perspective and an opposition perspective. Their connections gave us access to highly influential people and gave us the opportunity to attend many different events. This not only grew my professional network immensely, but it’s also how I landed my internship, which is now my full-time job! If it wasn’t for this program, I wouldn’t be where I am today.” – Kristin Wilton
