Director of Gender Equality Initiatives, Women of the Métis Nation

Tamsin is the Director of Gender Equality Initiatives at Women of the Métis Nation, a national advocacy organization representing the voices of Métis women across the Homeland. Tamsin also co-founded and currently manages Defend Choice, a pro-choice organization in the Capital Region that advocated for the injunction zone legislation in Ontario in 2017. She regularly engages in both provincial and national discussions related to reproductive rights and access. In addition to her MPM, Tamsin also holds a B.A. from Queen’s University in Gender Studies.

“The MPM program has opened so many doors for me. The opportunities to build upon practical skills, to network, and to dive deeper into broader conversations have been invaluable. What I especially love is the opportunity to marry grassroots organization with national discussions to create policy that is representative and effective.” – Tamsin Fitzgerald
