Brief description of what I do!
As Head of Pastoral, I oversee student wellbeing, behaviour, safeguarding, and emotional support across the school. I work closely with students, families, and staff to promote positive behaviour, support social and emotional development, manage student concerns, and create a safe, inclusive environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
What inspired your career path after graduation?
My passion for supporting students comes from my own educational experience. Growing up, I did not have access to a school counselor or the level of guidance and support I needed. It was during my time at Carleton University that I experienced the positive impact of supportive staff, which inspired me to pursue a role where I could provide students with the encouragement, guidance, and advocacy I once wished I had.
How did your experience in the psychology program shape your journey?
It helped me gain confidence in what I do.
What skills or experiences were most valuable after graduation?
Being social and friendly.
What has been a highlight or proud moment in your career so far?
One of the greatest highlights of my career so far has been the opportunity to positively impact the lives of both students and parents. Supporting families through challenges, guiding students toward growth, and seeing meaningful changes in wellbeing, behaviour, confidence, and family relationships has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
